Can anyone help me?

Hi,
I've been trying to find info on this Italy Euro coin of mine, but no one seems to know anything about it. Under the "O" in "EURO" there's a double "L", is this a common or rare find? Thanks

LL is for the designer's initials, Luc Luycx.
dougwtx: Did his initials appear on many coins?
I am not collecting Euro coins.
Sorry I can't help you. But I am sure there is some people on this forum has the answer.
The obverse of the Euro coins is identical in every participating country, so the LL appears on every 1 & 2 Euro coin.
The combined obverse may be changed when the new participating states will introduce the Euro coins.

Yep, those two overlapped L's are on the common sides of all circulation euro coins, from 1 cent to 2 euro. I'm not sure what they are but designer's mark sounds right.
I saw a really interesting article about the competition to create the new common euro designs.. apparently it's heating up even though there hasn't been definite word on if or how the switch will be made. Unfortunately I don't think I bookmarked it.
