cracking out proof sets

im curious if this is often done, is it worth it? i have a few 70's proof sets with DCAM coins and im thinking about cracking them out...

Oh yeah, people do it. Usually only when they think it's worth it. Early 70s dcams can be good for a couple of coins like the 71 half. Others aren't worth worrying about.

actually i just picked up a 71 proof set a few weeks ago on fleabay, but looking at it closer, it would probably only get a PR68 CAM...ill click a pic of it for a little reference

most of the scratches are on the plastic, but it does have a few dings on the cheek bone, and a few on the shield on the reverse.

I think what Marty was trying to say is.....if your reverse pic is accurate the coin will not go cam....not worth sending in.
