1993 Topps Stadium Club Bonds/Mays Auto

I'm interesting in this card, but I don't know what is a fair amount to bid on this. It's not authenticated (does that matter?), which means that these might be forged signatures.

Please help me decide (I am a huge Giants fan and Mays and Bonds are my favorites), I don't want to make a mistake that I will regret later. Thanks.

That picture of Barry is old school. He is frigging wearing the Deion Sanders gold chain outside his suit and has matching tie/suspenders! I bet he was under 195 lbs in that picture.

His smile looks genuine... must be before he dissed Jim Leyland and got out of Pittsburgh.

He uses this sentence in his description: "BARRY BONDS IS TEAMED UP WITH ALOU THIS YEAR AND THEY SHOULD MAKE A GREAT 1,2 PUNCH AND COULD WIN IT ALL". He definately does not follow sports news if he listed this auction yesterday.image

Looks like a promo card from Ultra Pro, which I've never known to contract players to sign their cards. The autos could be real but who knows. I'd ask for a scan of the back to see if there's any mention of autheniticity from Topps or Ultra Pro.

You could also pay for the PSA/DNA quick review of the autographs for like $7/auto. They will let you know if the autos are "likely" or "unlikely" genuine although they will not guarantee anything.
  • I was browsing his feedback, and I noticed that another same card with the dual signatures was sold.

Did you read his feedback? With negatives from buyers like:

April 16, 2005: "fake auto said was authentic no stamp from proline beware1/1 fake"

March 23, 2005: "Not even close to a true 1/1!!! Its all fake crap!!!! Do not recommend!! F-----"

October 4, 2004: "not a real 1/1 upperdeck lebron, jersey put on card after manufactored.BE WARE!"

September 6, 2004: "Fake lebron james 1/1card with a chunk of jersey. He claimed authentic. BEWARE"

June 23, 2004: "Sold me fake Jordan RC, guaranteed it to be authentic. Will not refund. Beware!"

I doubt I would be considering buying this card. And since we all know many people are too scard to leave negative feedback, I wonder how many more he might have received if ebayers weren't afraid of getting a return negative. I have no first hand experience with this seller, so I will not make any definitive claims saying he is bad, but the feedback left for him would have me looking elsewhere.

  • He sold the same card a while ago:

Look at the feedback that guy left:
NICE DUAL AUTOGRAPHED CARD! ARRIVED SAFE AND SOUND. HOPE IT’S REAL. THANKS!!

I think those autos are fake.
  • I asked the seller how does he guarantee this lifetime as quoted in his auction - "THIS IS A AUTHENTIC AUTOGRAPHED CARD AND HAS A MONEY BACK LIFETIME GUARENTEE." He probably won't answer, i'll post if he does answer.

I don't feel good about the auto - I have a ball that my son and I got signed, in person, and we have a signed bat also - his auto doesn't look like that - the "M" in Mays looks suspicious?

Why would Barry be in such a card not even wearing a uniform anyway?

    Photoshop made that card.
