Draped Bust Dollars

Some questions from a new collector. Any information/opinions appreciated.

1. Looking at the RedBook, the mintage for the 1802 dollar is substantially lower than the 1799 but there isn't a substantial difference in price. Why?

2. What percentage has been cleaned? Is it not practical to only collect coins that haven't been cleaned?

3. Will any of the AU coins in the Cardinal sale go for around the Redbook price?

4. In the last 5-10 years, have any other coins gone up as much as the Draped Bust Dollars?

1. Prices are based more on pieces which still exist rather than recorded mintages (which at this time had little to do with the date on coin anyway)
2. Next to all of them have been cleaned at one time or another. This is not to say that they are not "market uncleaned".
3. No, (at least I strongly doubt it.)
4. Yes many series have.
