Got in over my head.

DUIGUYDUIGUY Posts: 7,252 ✭✭✭
Recently bought a coin from aurasoma,(Anne). At the same time a dealer contacted me about an
89cc AU55. It was my intention to trade the coin I bought from Anne along with four coins from my collection to pad against the price of the 89cc. The dealer said he was inventory heavy and could not
swing it. Anne was understanding enough to allow me to send her coin back. I have emailed Anne to tell her to take any money I have cost her out of the purchase price of the coin.
SO,, let the flaming begin.

A forum member told Anne I had asked about aurasoma on this forum. That and I feel bad about the whole thing.

I think you did a respectable thing by asking to take out (the inconvience fee), things happen. Should be an easy coin to selll to some one else??
  • I agree that you did the right thing by refunding her costs. I don't know the dealer (Anne) that you are talking about but you did your part to make it right. I wouldn't worry about it.

I don't think you did anything wrong, especially since you offered to cover her fees.

What I'd like to know is who is the rat that told her you posted about her here?

You un-did a deal. I have done that several times - sometimes with compensation, other times not. Don't sweat it.

Could not agree with you more concerning the Redskins. But I must correct you on the maroon part.
Its actually " Half A$$ed MAROON" as my grandfather called me.

Well, OK then. It was your problem and only your problem and making it someone else's problem wasn't the right thing to do. If the dealer had misrepresented the coin (condition or value) that would be a different story. JMHO and far be it from me to tell anyone how to run their coin business.
  • You should have completed the first deal, and let the second one go. They are only coins, after all.
  • If it'll make you feel better................... here ya go...........

I'm more interested in hearing about the "inventory heavy" dealer!

Is it a sign of a "market top" or just something specific to this dealer?

Might he be willing to lower his prices in order to clear out some inventory?

Dealer is new world rarities, last I checked there web site it was under construction. I hope they will
include photos and prices on there site.

Just checked there site, it is still undergoing maintenance.

Ah, I just saw them at the GSNA show. They didn't seem to have brought that much with them to the show.

From my (relatively) few interactions with them over the past several years, I would interpret their "inventory heavy" to mean more that they didn't want to do that specific trade rather than they were inventory heavy in general. I think they prefer quick turnover and sales (rather than trades), in general.

I would agree with you. They have only traded coins with me once. image

I think DUIGUY may be looking for some sort of boost, maybe a "Now that wasn't that bad" or "You handled that well" or maybe "You did the right thing with the inconvenience fees"

Truthfully, non of the parties were harmed in this deal so why make a stink about it?

Hmmm, just wondering what the motive of this thread is.
