auctions ending for Memorial weekend...good or bad?

I have a bunch of auctions ready to go on my Turbo Lister.
Do you think it's a bad idea having them end this weekend including
Monday? The thought of folks being out of town and dragging their tired
butts back by Monday evening. What do you think?

  • I would not have an auction begin or end during a holiday weekend. You run the risk of lossing too many potential bidders. I learned the hard way.

I dunno.. Here in Canada it's Victoria Day today (day off) and yes many people are away.. gone camping and whatever but many haven't gone away with nothing better to do but browse around on eBay.. especially with all the rain our province is getting today and the last few days.

    I don't think it matters.

edited to add... but having the auctions end on the last day off would be best I think.

    Go for Tuesday to Tuesday.

The potential high bidder may be busy or out of town on Monday.

I am surprised having an auction start on a holiday would matter. Ending on a holiday is another story, and a great time to be a buyer.

Thanks for the reminder Eagle Eye.

I was going to list tonight but it's better to wait for Tuesday.

I usually do Tuesday-Thursday, but have a lot to list this week.

I never end on Fridays or weekends (especially in the Spring and Summer). Monday is optional.

Are Sunday night closing auctions truly slower during the summer? Learning as I go . . .

I purposely avoided putting up anything last Sunday but will have some good stuff going up this Sunday. In general, what's the buying activity like on eBay during the summer?

I think it might be a bad idea to list during the holiday weekend. I know I will be too busy thinking of cooking out then to think about cards. image I can just see it now...... image

But you will have all week to look at them anyway since they end the next week, no?
