Only Child?

I was looking at the April 2005 SMR for the Nth time and was re-reading the article on the 1991 Desert Shield cards and noticed the person who wrote the article name was Kevin Sucier. I was wonder, but doubt that it is, but there was a Detroit Tigers Picture in the 80s maybe early 90s with the same name. Same person?

Close but not quite. The author Kevin is our onlychild; he's a very softspoken guy who rarely speaks his mind. He's actually a 6'-9" 350 pound ex-dock worker who part times as a bouncer/security guard at Staples Center, but a sweeter guy you could never meet.

I believe you are thinking of Kevin Saucier. Spelling is slightly different. He pitched for the Tigers in 81 and 82.

Maybe Stingray thought that Kevin had changed the spelling of his last name!?

The name Kevin Sucier is obviously an alias.

Sounds an awful lot like Keyser Soze.

    Coincidence ? ... I think not ...

For the record, Kevin's last name is Saucier. Somewhere there's a typo, either in Sting's post or on the article.

    Thanks Mark!

Though I do not have the maganzine in front of me and not sure if I did a typo. Still not the same person though!?

I thought this was going to be a thread on only children. I have only one child which, at times, I feel bad that he doesn't have any brothers or sisters. image

Then again, that's all we (my sisters) do is fight anyway! image

Well now that this thread is going south, I came from a family of 8, 7 boys and 1 girl (Catholic family) and God has blessed me with 3 daughters.

MM man is right about Only Child, he's probably too big to have ever pitched, but maybe DH. Nice guy though, don't think I've ever seen someone that big with such a high voice.

My name is Kevin Saucier but often go by the name Kevin Sucier. Many people confuse me for Keyser Soze especially when I use to sing in a barbershop quartet in Skokie, IL.. Which by the way, is not too far from Detroit and Tiger Stadium. Unfortunately my massive body restricts my movement so I can no longer pitch. I still believe in taking care of my fans and will sign baseballs and cards. One thing is for certain, it would be a guaranteed authentic signature.

Don't let the name fool you, I'm from the south from a family of 8, 7 girls and 1 boy (we're an athiest family) God has blessed us with 2 children.
