Buffalo Nickel Update

We were down to our last box of buffalo nickels at the bank, so I ordered more. They sent me boxes of old ones. I don't know if that means they are done minting them or that they are just behind. I will let you know when I have to order more. I bought the rest for my collection. Just in case that is the last of them.

Please define exactly what you mean by the term "old".

Sorry. Poor choice of words. They sent me a mixed asortment of nickels. Nothing exciting at all. Just old grubby nickels. Like I said, I am not sure what that means.

That's too bad =( Maybe they are out...how many did you stash away for yourself? I'm keeping 1 box and couple dozen loose rolls.

That is the same as my vault teller is hearing from Fed. Looks like we are done getting more buffalo nickels in.

I have two full boxes plus probably 30 rolls. About the same on keelboats. I will do the same on the ocean view as well.

I do probably get some good finds, but i am too uneducated to know if they are good finds. have alot of coins, but don't know much about them. i am learning from all of you.

I was told by a dealer the Mint is saving most of its Buffalo's for its website customers, no more to the feds. I dont know if its true though.
