Help for a new collector

Hi
I am a beginning collector. I only collect silver. I have a very small collection. I would appreciate any advice from anyone. I just joined PCGS a month ago. Don't really know what all the pit falls are. Yesterday I looked at NGC. They do not have a pricing schedule. They have obtained a different agency of which you have to pay and join. Help.
