"British grading"?

jonathanbjonathanb Posts: 3,717 ✭✭✭✭✭
I've seen a couple of references lately to "British grading" or "the British standard of grading". I understand that it's stricter, and it seems that there are some grades that I'm not familiar with (gVF?).

Does anyone have a link to a fuller discussion?

Thanks!

You'll have a lot better luck getting an answer if you ask this question over on the "Dark Side" (the world and ancient coins board).

Check out the Southern Gold Society

if you collect coins from the UK... be concerned about British grading. I would not loose any sleep over the difference if you collect only US coins.

Experience the World through Numismatics...it's more than you can imagine.
