    Depends on what year you are talking about (it varies by year)....

    1950-1960 -> Coppers are 21, 26, 31mm (1/4d, 1/2d, 1d)
    1950-1960 -> Silvers are 17, 21, 25, 30, 35, 41 mm (3d, 6d, 1/, 2/, 2/6, 5/)

    1960-1964 -> Brass are 27, 33mm (1/2 cent, 1 cent)
    1960-1964 -> Silvers are 17, 21, 25, 31, 41mm (2 1/2 cent, 5 cent, 10 cent, 20 cent 50 cent)

    1965-1969 -> Coppers are 21, 24mm (1 cent, 2 cent)
    1965-1969 -> CuNi are 18, 22, 26, 30mm (5 cent, 10 cent, 20 cent, 50 cent)
    1965-1969 -> Silver is 35mm (1 rand)

    1970-1983 -> Coppers are 17, 21, 24mm (1/2 cent, 1 cent, 2 cent)
    1970-1983 -> CuNi are 18, 22, 26, 30mm (5 cent, 10 cent, 20 cent, 50 cent)
    1970-1983 -> Silver is 35mm (1 rand)

    1984-1989 -> drop the 1/2 cent, all others are the same

    1989-present -> Coppers are 16, 19, 22mm (1 cent, 2 cent, 5 cent)
    1989-present -> Brass are 17, 20, 23mm (10 cent, 20 cent, 50 cent)

    I don't know the sizes for the nickel plated coins (I don't have one of those sets at the house)

    All of the above sizes ignore any fractional values on the sizes.

    Also, the proof sets before 1950 seem to be pretty consistent with the sizes for the 50's so I would use them....

    The farthings up to 1960 appear to fit best in 20 mm airtites. They are the same diameter as the British farthings, which are 20.5 mm.
