What's the easiest way to display images?

I made a feeble attempt to display some scanned images on a geocities page using old html. I'm too embarrassed to show them here.

What's the easiest and/or best way to display? Would taking digital shots of items work?

buy some cheapo $3ish a month web hosting.. LINK upload your pics via use of a FTP program to your web hosting account.. link them.. (They'll help you with how to do so)

I use photobucket for free image hosting. Save the picture to your hard drive (be it a scanned, digital camera, web image) and upload to the site. It's pretty easy to use and you can link your pictures to ebay auction. The downside is the free service "only" gets 25 megs of space and 1,500 megs of bandwidth/month. I've had my account for about 1.5 years, uploaded numerous large/high-res pictures, and have yet to exceed my maximum limit. However, if you upload like 50 high-res pictures daily, you will eventually hit your max. If needed, just slightly reduce your pictures and you should be OK.

If you have no doubt that you will exceed that allotment, they have a permium service. $3/month for a 3 month contract and $2/month if you sign up for a year.

Thanks for the tips, Knuckles and stown. I'll keep playing and see what looks best.

stown -- I've got a creased example of 201 Lollar w/rounded corners - 1 of 3 '55T cards I own. The other 2 are VG dupes of 162 Joe Coleman.

Wish I could've helped you out!

Thanx Storm for the photobucket link - I used geocities and pay, I think 5$/mo, if you use the free geocities, the hosted pics are up and down all day based on limited bandwidth usage.

They may be good, but here's my first two impressions having clicked on your link:

    1) Simple homepage slow to load. It's not like it's full of fancy Flash animations or something. Just text and a tiny picture.
    2) The first thing I read is "Your IP has been logged". Nothing like treating a potential new customer like a potential criminal right up front.

  • I also use photo bucket and if you do hit your max... just open another account.

I use geocities too and I'm too cheap to pay anything. The 15 MB limit is pretty high for me and I can host about 80 high res pics
and slap them onto my auctions. If I exceed that amount, I just go to the other account I set up with geocities LOL for another
    free 15 MB.

I have Comcast cable ISP and use the 25 megs per account to host pics. No limit on bandwidth or file size.
A fellow board member shared some simple instructions for scanning awhile back using Adobe ImageReady. Scan at 300 dpi and save as an optimzed jpeg. I have 15 pics up now and have used a little over 2 megs.
After messing around with it I came up with a good scanning process for my auctions. A nice large, clear image -

I have Comcast cable also. I just use the free space that comes with the account and have not yet run out of room!

Thanks Mike. I seem to be hitting a lucky streak on modern box breaks. The Gwynn came in four boxes that also yielded a Nomo 1/10 auto, a Bench auto, and a Carlton 3000 Club die cut card. The Gwynn is at $40, Nomo is $155, with two days to go.

Busted 3 cases of Topps Chrome 2 this weekend. Pulled one Billy Butler Red Xfractor Auto /25. The last one sold for $500. Many other higher $$ cards that will ensure I make a profit on the gamble.

My only wish is that Heritage had been so generous.

I read this thread and realized I use comcast also!

I have created and named a photo album using snapfish. I have my images imported into the album.

How do I go about sharing the @#@#!$* images on the message board? I try to copy URL where my photo exists and either share picture or link using toolbar above, but don't work.

I am stupid and wonder what I am doing wrong?

    Thanks anybody who can help.

If for some reason the tool bar isn't working, try pasting the link in manually between [IMG] and [ /IMG] (without the space).

Use scans, not digital pictures. Scans show the image flat and are much clearer and sharper.
