This coin was shilled three or four times in the course of six months. There's been a couple of past threads dedicated to this Kennedy (I can't recall the title of them or I'd LINK them back to this one).

I had bid on it and "lost" to a shill twice. The coin, after being "sold" turned up in the same dealer's inventory, back on eBay, just a few days later.

No matter how often Fairtraderz sells this Kennedy it just keeps turning up in their auctions!

  • I guess you can call it a "bad Kennedy!"

Looks like Bic lighter toning to me.

    Link to previous thread.

(Would be easier to find these if the thread titles were more descriptive. image )

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

    Kranky, thanks for the LINK.

For the life of me, I couldn't recall how I titled that Thread!

What is amusing is that every time this coin is listed, they want more money for it!! If I recall correctly, the last time they listed it, the opening bid was something like $150, and no one bid. Perhaps by jacking up the price, they are trying to convince you that this soup-ed up Hyundai is a Lexus!! image

The interesting bit about Fairtraderz is that after they were caught shill bidding last December, they changed all their auctions from $1 no reserve to high opening bids approximately at retail levels.
