When will PCGS grow a conservation arm?

It's just a matter of time, given NCS's popularity, isn't it?

It is not likely that they will. David Hall has repeatedly said it is not something in which they want to become involved.

In 1991, they didn't want to designate "cameo" on proof coins, either. If DH sees money in it, he'll get involved.

Despite the obvious and considerable $ to be made, there is also a great deal of downside (as in harm to their reputation) at stake. I don't think PCGS will venture into that area.

Here is a previous thread on the topic:

I see absolutely nothing wrong with conservation if it is needed - as long as the coin is slabbed as ANACS does with a "cleaned" notation.

I don't want any "conserved" coin in my PCGS slab

That's what ANACS is for
