My first ebay coin purchase, a raw 1899 micro O circulated Morgan

I know, never buy raw off ebay, it was only $25.50 w/shipping. Snipped with dialup and 34 seconds to go. image
Believe me, it was not a snipe on purpose. Got it from Coast to Coast Coin. The best I can determine it's a VAM-4. Any thoughts on this ?

I don't have the time to pull out the VAM book right now, but that appears to be a F15 and is a micro O. I think you did fine on this. Circulated Morgans are okay in this price range raw when they look like this.

    Glad you didn't say '96-O or '98-O...

Could also be a VAM 31 or 32 as they also have micro O mintmarks set high, right and tilted right. Check for doubling at the outside edges of the middle leaves in the clusters of the left and right wreaths on the reverse.

If it is a 31 or 32, you can't get hurt as they are both R-6 coins. image

    Nice find.image

Couldn't find any doubling in the wreath. I saw a VAM-31 1899 micro O for sale somewhere the other day and was puzzled. The VAM book I have, 4th edition, didn't have it listed, must be new. image

Kinda like this one? Although mine is the first I have seen with the die clash albeit faint.
