Converting SGC grade to PSA grade

Am I missing something? Setting aside the fact that PSA does not recognize "half-grades," is there any formula whereby an SGC score gets converted to a PSA score? I've been seeing a lot of this type of thing lately.

    Maybe it's just habbit.. SGC's old flips didn't have a 1 to 10 scale as well on them.

    Sellers feel the need I guess to explain what a SGC grade would be equal to by the PSA 1-10 scale but hastily add the .5... eh... *shrug*

    So, the lower case numbers on the new SGC flips are supposed to be the 1-10 conversion? That's what this seller is doing in all his listings.

    Yep.. and adding psa I'm sure adds more traffic to his auctions.

    I don't collect 1963 Topps but that card looks trimmed on top to me compared to a 1963 Mantle I have.

    A few years ago SGC started adding what the PSA equivalent would be on their cards. Some collectors weren't familiar with their 100 pt grading scale, so this helped alleviate the uncertainty. Since SGC's system incorporates 1/2 grades, the equivalent PSA grade reflects what the card would be if PSA used 1/2 grades. image
    It's actually simpler than it sounds.
