Did you find you got your monies worth by joining?
And would it be worth it to grade 1973 and newer cards?
Just wondering if I should join or not.
Tell me what you think.

As for 1973 or later, depends which sport and players. Stars like Pete Rose or Nolan Ryan are worth it if you can pull at least an 8. For most cards it takes a 9 to make it worthwhile. For anything after 1980, you will need a 10.

The Wilt is also worth it if it will pull at least a 6.
The football rookies are worth it if you can get at least a 8 for the 1973-1976, 9 for 1977-1979, and 10 for 1980 onwards.
This assumes a net grading cost of $15 (including S&H) per card.
You don't have to have a membership to use the message boards, so that is gratis.

I think I paid 89 bucks - got 6 subs, online SMR/pops, and the SMR mag - overall - I think it's worth it - heck if I take my wife out to dinner we drop 75 bucks and the next day? A faint memory.

This is my first post to any of the boards and am looking forward to getting a set or two registered soon. I'll probably start with my already-completed '62 Topps and '63 Fleer sets. I've got complete '63 and '68 Topps sets, too, but there's no way I can afford to even think about getting all those cards graded. I have hundreds of Kirby cards and collectibles. I'm just waiting for the kids to leave home so I can have room to display and enjoy it all!

Since i have tons of cards to get graded, my 10 free subs almost paid for the two year membership alone. And now the $5 special going right now, i have 30 cards that were entered on 5/12/05 ( by the way--any guesses on long it will take to grade and get back to me?) and i have 60 going out at the end of the month. Both of those groups will put me into the profit side. So it was well worth it so far. My sub is #573713 and zip 98684. With no time table from PSA to grade or deliver i may never see these cards again.
My favorite Clint quote was where he was counting all the dead bodies on the Cart " 14,15,16,...something isn't right." Clint here's a noise and spins around to shoot a guy of the roof and then says "17". His partner says "Anything wrong?" Clint replies " No, i thought my math was off. But it's o.k. now."
