PSA Label Question - Musial Gets 3000th Hit

Hello everyone.

I was just updating my collection and went to put my newly purchased PSA 8 Topps card # 470 Musial raps out 3,000th hit in my case and noticed that the PSA 7 I have is labeled differently. Instead of Musial Raps out 3,000th hit, it is labeled Musial Gets # 3000. It was an older graded card, I was wondering if anyone knows when they switched or corrected the label. Will PSA charge to have the label changed, or if there is any additional value attached to the PSA Label difference. I will attempt to post scans. I'm still trying to figure out how to receive a PM.

I have noticed on some of the 67s have a statement on the flip that states "All-Star Rookie" for some Randy Hundleys and not on other Hundley's? Do not know why the do/do not put them on all of them.

The flip may have been typed differently based on the info on the submission sheet or simply what they pulled off the card.

IMO, there's no premium to how a flip is entitled - even if it's an error.

  • Drew....when PSA switched labels - from the old style round labels to the newer square-bordered - they changed the way they label a lot of cards. I have no idea whether or not they'll reholder your older Musial for free, but it's worth a shot. The newer-graded cards are pretty consistent when it comes to uniformity in labelling.
  • Thanks for the information everyone.
Now how do I shrink my pictures small enough to fit the PSA requirement for posting? I tried full cards, but they were too large. Any help would be appreciated. I do enjoy reading everyones posts and have learned a lot from reading the message boards.

If you have an HP scanner, go to "scan settings" and drop the "resolution - ppi" down - I want to say that Winpitcher scans at about 100? I use a hosting site so I don't remember.
