Most Wickedly Toned Ike EVER!!!

Bought this coin at CSNS, coin has super duper rainbow colors on both obverse and reversIt's also clean as a whistle.

1971-D $1 USA MS66 PCGS of course!!!!

I don't spend $50 grading on an Ike, unless it's really, really special!!!

Thought this coin had a shot at MS67.

Pic to be posted on return.

Even Larry Shepard, the king of the $10,000 MS66 81-S Morgan liked this coin.

Pics added. They DO NOT do this coin justice at all. This coin has greens/reds and purples overlaying iridescent yellows on the obverse. Reverse is Deep gold/yellow rims, merging into yellows then blues.

Looks like a beautiful and legit Peac*ock hoard example. Peac*ocks never image well. It's one of the ways you know it's a Peac*ock. Their beauty is hidden, and can only be enjoyed in person.

Did it 67? If so, it is probably worth many thousands of dollars. Even in a 66 holder it must be worth close to $2,000 in today's market?

    Greg,

    The coin is a 66.

I don;t think it's a PKOK, but then most of the clad PKOK's have thier own special look. The reverse certainly looks PKOK.

The coin should have gone 67.

I'll send it to NGC in hopes of a 67*.

It has one minor tick on the jaw and a few faint feild imperfections on the obverse...but I'm being critical.

    Reverse is 100% clean.

With the strike, eye appeal, luster and fantastic toning, I don;t know why it's not a 67. From a bagmark perspective i compared it to 3 of my 71-D's in 67, and hte toned one is better than all. It'll make 67 eventually.

Greg - This coin more than rivals the 74-D that you sold, as the colors are not as dark, and are even more "Rainbow" if that can be!
