I expected a certain board member known for collecting Joisey coins to snatch this up though. He has outbid me in the past for one of these jewels. image

    Nice coin. I wonder why it was called 1/52 of a shilling? To insure that it could not be traded on the "mainland?"

    Also, is the weight on this piece 12/13 the weight of a British copper farthing?

    Jersey was originally on a 13 pennies to the shilling monetary rate before switching to the English standard of 12 pennies to the shilling.
