I agree, so, PJ, what are you selling? Frowny faces?

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

maybe a suggestion could be when placing a title on a FS/FA thread, we use FSH (as they already do, and FA for ebay instead of saying "On Ebay"?

I dont really like ebay when buying coins, so i am always on the look out for ebay listings, if they have "on ebay" i usually dont click, but thats just me. image

This has been said before, and I'm glad that it's been brought up again as it is very annoying when you look up a thread to find that it's an eBay listing.I think it should be FSE for eBay items, but I'll continue to use "on eBay...

I think if you are going to post it on ebay post it there. I can always go and look up things on ebay. I don't need to be reminded every hour that someone has a couple of proof sets on ebay.

    You're nuts.
I know for a fact that at least 1/4-1/3 of bidders on on auctions I have listed are from board members who saw my post on these boards.I have and will continue to post thread advertising my eBay auction on these boards. If you want to lose the advertising potential,it's your own mistake.

I agree, but its alot easier IMHO if the titles start with either FS or FA....

Agree that folks should be able to list e-bay auctions, but please list that in the thread title.

Makes for no surprises. My guess is that surprises back-fire.

I totally agree that people should be able to list ebay items. I think run of the mill stuff is just a waste of space.

  • I think that this site should be a buy, sell & trade area only.
It doesn't say buy, sell trade and ebay coins on the title.

I always have ebay auctions up.
I think that if someone wants to surf ebay,
    they will after looking here....

I will usually combine a thread to include an item or 2 for sale here, and my auctions on eBay. I DO however post it as FSH.....and eBay auctions as well.

NOW QUIT WHINING AND GO BID ON MY EBAY AUCTIONS!

  • I agree that ebay items should be albe to be listed on the board bst board as many members do sell there, but to keep things simple and avoid more rules rules rules could we not just use common courtesy and post that in our title. When I look now I only click on items with FSH in title unless I see something I relay likeimage,

There are members with whom we all exchange pleasantries HEREeveryday but would never think to look for them on eBay, most of all, because we would not know most of em's eBay IDs. Example, who would correlate B00M with pittbreeder?image

I think it is good to get to know each others' IDs and offerings BUT, "On eBay" should be included in titles when appropriate......(JMHO)image Just a little forewarning out of courtesy, ya know.image

It almost seems like this isn't really a BST issue, but rather an eBay hatred issue.

But to stay on topic... It has not been noted that there are listings on eBay that are "FOR SALE" and not at auction. Listings in a seller's eBay store which do not accept bids, and have no ending date. There is a coin, a set price, and a method to purchase the coin. And what of auction listings which also have a buy-it-now price? How would those be classified?

<< <i>BUT, "On eBay" should be included in titles when appropriate..... >>

Whether the coin is on a website, in a safe deposit box, my back pocket, or on eBay, should not be an issue. I sell some rare VAM die varieties that may be offered only once every few months or even once every few years. I also have one-of-a-kind discovery coins listed. If a person likes a coin, if a person wants a coin, if a person NEEDS a coin, but doesn't like eBay, oh well, person loses. To imagine that a collector would not purchase a coin solely because it is "FOR SALE" on eBay is fascinating.
