Fan charged with throwing beer at Giambi

You have probably heard about this story by now, but here is the link. Read on and you will see the true problem with sports, and it is not steroids. IT IS ALCOHOL!! This buffoon was charged with public intoxication. When will this country understand that alcohol serves no good purpose other than to allow losers to get laid and for profitable economic reasons. Oh, caught myself......guess there is too much money involved. So, this case will continue to be one of many involving idiots who ingest five too many beers at a game. Remember, it doesn't matter if the products do you harm or good. If the government can make a lot of money on it, it will be legal. Hence, steroids are illegal and tobacco and alcohol are legal. It doesn't even matter if the product involved hurts more than the user. IF IT MAKES ECONOMIC SENSE, THEN IT CANNOT BE AN OFFENSE.

And Oakland was where the brawl occurred with Texas that had the chair thrown into the stands. Having been to many games there to see the Mariners, I can say the fans are incredibly obnoxious, loud and boisterous...never been to a Raiders game, but they must be the same fans.

Why do you think mairjuana will never be leagalized? The gov't can figure how to tax it that's why. I don't smoke or have any interest in smoking marijuana, but I have always found it very hypocritical that alcohol is legal and marijuana isn't. Ask any policeman which person he would rather deal with someone smoking 'pot' or drinking and the answer will most always be pot. Don't find too many people getting violent smoking pot.

Smoking cigarettes = legal because of all the money it brings in to the government.

Smoking weed = illegal because it's easily grown by the user, therfore no tax revenue.

You are right...it's very hypocritical for weed to banned, but alcohol and tobacco is legal. Chris Rock in his last HBO special talked about it for a bit....good stuff.

Giambi handled it very well by not paying attention to the idiot. Texas (as a team) did the wrong thing. However, I love the fans at the Texas game last year. To paraphrase, "Sure, we had a little to drink, but it didn't change our behavior at all." Yeah, right, and the moon is made out of cheese. However, those drunk fans will make off like bandits due to what the Texas players did.
