It sure looks like that '83 is a VAM 3 with a dash under the 8. Might be a nice pickup for a vammer if it is

Does the VAM 4 designation carry a premium? I just checked mine and its in a PCGS MS66 holder and it has the dash under the second 8.

Brian, so many of this date survived in the treasury hoard that none of the VAMs carry much of a premium. There are two VAMs with the dash under the second 8. This one, and the VAM 3. Look at your coin and see if you have the doubling inside the top loop of the first 8. If you don't, then it is a VAM 3.

62/63. I sent a bunch of these to NGC and held back any that I felt may not make 63.
