going to an auction-need some help

This Auction is a collectors DREAM, it has literally 1000’s of Sports Cards and Toys. Cards from all sports including a GRADED 1930 Babe Ruth and 1942 Joe Dimaggio. 3 Topps Mickey Mantle’s from 64, 66, and 67!! 1960 Topps Carl Yastrzemski Rookie and Many Stars, Superstars and Rookie cards from the 60’s on. 6 Autographed baseballs including McGwire, Canseco, and more. Many unopened wax boxes & sets. Many mint BB & FB sets from the 80’s & on. A spectacular 1985 Topps BB set and a 1986 topps football set with a gorgeous JERRY RICE ROOKIE.. Large group of autographed Cubs and Yankees cards.

any prices will be helpfull,looking to send these in if i can get them at decent price

    just like in coins, condition its the main thing you have to watch out for.

    The cards you mentioned are nice, but not rare unless they are in super high grade.

    the Ruth is probably not too expensive and i dont know of any 1942 dimaggio card, he was in wwII that year.

    its also very important that if you buy graded cards make sure you stick to PSA , SGC and GAI, anything else its probably fake or doctored

    a couple of hundreds...maybe, it really depends on their condition.

    all 60's and 70's cards have soften up a little...look for pre WW II stuff and old gloves and bats.

    Is it my imagination or are auctions the most expensive way to buy cards?

    There was an online auction recently on ebay and the seller required something like a 24% premium ABOVE the bid! Sounds good for the seller, but not for the buyer.
