The cards you mentioned are nice, but not rare unless they are in super high grade.
the Ruth is probably not too expensive and i dont know of any 1942 dimaggio card, he was in wwII that year.
its also very important that if you buy graded cards make sure you stick to PSA , SGC and GAI, anything else its probably fake or doctored

all 60's and 70's cards have soften up a little...look for pre WW II stuff and old gloves and bats.

There was an online auction recently on ebay and the seller required something like a 24% premium ABOVE the bid! Sounds good for the seller, but not for the buyer.
