Card shops in Philly?

I'm constantly making trips to Philadelphia and was wondering if there are any good shops around. Any help would be appreciated.

Lee, it FRIGHTENS me that you make so many trips so close to my home imageimage

I live in on the Jersey Shore next to Long Beach Island. Only 50 miles from Philadelphia itself. I know of NO DECENT card shops anywhere near me. They are an endangered species.

Nothing special that I've ever been to. Seems like card shops are about the same everywhere. Some friendly weasel behind the counter looking to rip you off. His VG cards are at EXMT and above prices, but when you're trying to sell, your EXMT and better cards get offers of VG and below prices. I only ever visit them to buy supplies.

the only reason to have a card shop these days...is to have a way to get unopened cases .......i dont see any other reason.....it truly is a hobby ........who the heck can make a living off this stuff anymore?

My local card store is going out of business. Went there today with a pocket of cash, looking to make some deals. The place was cleaned out. Knew I should have hit them last week, but I was trying to buy a house and didn't want to spend the money.

Lee - here is a place in Hatboro, outside of Philly. They deal in a lot of modern though.
Maybe they could help or refer you to another shop.

    cdnuts,

I believe there is a place called the backstop on rt 37 in toms river but that is a little out of your way , Unless you go to the Jersey shore. I live about 5 miles fom Long Beach Island and i just wait for the Ft Washington shows every year.

It really s*cks that everything is done through ebay now.

    T206's are always being bought.

    Great soft,
Dinner at your house next weekend. Thanks for inviting me. I like rack of lamb with truffled mashed potatoes and a 1982 first growth Bordeaux...... My girlfriend lives in Philly so I go up there just about every week to take care of business........ I mean spend quality time. One of the perks about what I do for a living is a flexible schedule. Also, it's kind of on the way to AC so that works out as well.

My better half loves AC. We spent Friday/Saturday there last weekend. And you can stick the truffled potatos up your caboose.

They should put card shops in the casinos so when we hit it big we can overspend on stuff.

Intresting topic. I am presently searching for a store front near Philly. Actually I am about 20 miles from the fort washington show. Email me, and I will send you an invite personally, when it is open. Hopefully, within the next few months or so.
My ebay store IS CLOSED TEMPORARILY

What exactly are you looking for? There is a great shop for memorabilia and vintage stuff, it's just over the Walt Whitman bridge in Gloucester, NJ. It's called Ed Dolan Jr's Baseball Fanatic. They only have evening hours on Wed. and Fri. and all day on Sat. and Sun. They have a website at www.eddolan.com. Great store!
