I know I've been ranting about these guys and the grades PSA hands out for their huge submissions but this is getting ridiculous. I dont know maybe its just the 75 Topps (I track these all the time), but check out the PSA 9 Winfield and PSA 8 Yount closing in about 7 hours. Unbelievable. Text
Always looking for High Grade Pete Rose @ Mint 1975 Topps

Surface on Yount tooks dirty but that could just be the scan. Otherwise, would you rather be bidding on a 9OC Yount or a straight 8? It is OC quite a bit ....

I'm sick and tired of hearing people rant about DSL's supposed favoritism in grading. It's easy to be fooled in to thinking they get breaks because only the suspect and overgraded cards are discussed - take a look at how many cards they have listed on ebay currently: 1122. If you would like, i could post scans of the 1000 plus cards that are graded accurately. By submitting that many cards, yes - you will recieve some sliders. You will recieve some overgraded cards, and some undergraded cards. That's what happens when you submit thousands of cards a month.
Until there is some hard proof that DSL (or any other large-volume submitter) recieves preferential treatment, I will continue to chuckle at threads such as these.

grading is a highly subjective art. EVERYONE views different cards in different ways. I poke fun at them too, especially 10's. BUT I know that grading is far from an exact science so I have learned to be happy collecting and poke fun along the way. If ya don't like it, don't bid!

Amen to that, good sir!
PSA holders do allow for a very small movemment of a card, some gentle tapping of the Winfield slab would probably get it straight / square and remove the percieved tilt.
Scans are a great help, but not until the card is in hand can one really properly evaluate the condition, and as we all know, the evaluation, no matter how expert, is a bit subjective.
The lower right corner of the PSA 9 may be an illusion created by the DSL logo.
In the world of 75s - with tilting worse than that, rough cuts, etc. - these are not bad IMO.
But this is PSA's Board and to directly accuse them of showing favoritism should be accompanied by a smoking gun. I have spoken with dealers who have been very disappointed with certain submissions and are PSA "regulars."
