Question

I was looking at the latest SMR and noticed some of the advertisments/auctions and was wondering what is the difference between 1933 Goudey and 1933 World Wide Gum? Are they the same cards made by the same company and they put a different brand name on the back? I do not collect that far back and was curious why some flips say Goudey and some say World Wide Gum.
