Nice article. Yogi looks like he could still hit.
  • Even though he is already highly regarded, I still feel that Yogi is still underrated as to his talent, abilities and contributions to the Yankee pennant winners from DiMag through Mantle.

Im no Yankee fan as my posts attest, but this guy was great and, unfortunately, he is more remembered now for being a clown of sorts and saying stupid things, most of which he never said but that his buddy Joe Garagiola made up.

I remember reading somewhere where Casey Stengel said something like Berra was the reason that they Yanks won so much. He was the center of the hub.

    Happy Bday Yogi!!!

Happy Birthday Yogi, one of the best catchers of all time...chances are if you ask about a world series record, Yogi owns it.

That was a great article. People forget what an outstanding player he was, remembering him more for his quips. That article has some required reading for people that don't know about his career. Happy Birthday, Yogi!

Proud of my 16x20 autographed and framed collection - all signed in person. Not big on modern - I'm stuck in the past!
  • One of the most charismatic players I've ever seen.
Wise men learn more from fools than fools learn from the wise.

  • the best bad ball hitter ever? the best catcher ever? a great player for sure!

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.

Happy birthday Yogi my man.I hope you live forever.
Do you know that in 1965 you and Mansori Murakami of the Giants were the only two players that did not speak English,
