If you submit a "dirty" coin to be graded, will the graders attempt to grade it or just bo

I guess the question is - Will the graders attempt to lightly brush, wipe or any other means to improve a coins appearance, or do they have strict guidelines not to attempt this in any way.

Did they ask permission before dipping your coin? I didn't think PCGS cleaned coins. If they did it without permission, I can see some anti-cleaning fanatics raising he11.

No , they didn't ask. The just removed some filmy haze.
