    I think its the denomination. Those **---$24---*** ones are tough!

  • TTT I don't think this will be a modern coin by the time I find one.

  • I think you are having a tough time finding one because all the people that bought them know how hyper rare (5260) they are and are afraid to sell them. Dealers in general did not show up last year to buy so there is no "overhang" to speek of. I have not seen a single 04 proof $50, $25 or $10 on the net in the last month since sales at the mint ended.

    My humble suggestion is if you see one and have to pay a little more than issue price jump on it. The mint has already announced at the last CCAC meating that they are working on a whole new series for 06 and the liberty series is more than likely dead.

    Oops, sorry. <smacks head>
  • I had a bunch of them but my close friends bough off the few I was willing to sell after they found out the mintages. A guy named Dan had the forsite to buy several before sales ended --------his e-mail address is

    nycounsel@hotmail.com

    Ask him what he wants for one. I don't think he is looking to sell right now but nothing beats a no but a yes. They could be $1,000+ in a few years based on mintage.

    Good Luck

  • Sean,

    Sorry to hear some one was trying to rip you off at $1200. Hope you didn't think I was trying to sell you anything because I'm not. Also I'm not saying the coins are worth anything cose to $1,000 now or in the next year but they may have that kind of POTENTIAL in 5 years or so.

    Sincerely

    Eric

    If I paid $1,000 for one, my wife would make me live outside.
  • Well,

    If you paid 1k for one right now I would say you deserve to live outside......

    TTT = try try try.
  • I was also looking for one, but a $10 piece instead. After about a month or so of searching I finally found one. A little more than what I wanted to spend, but I figured I better get it now before I will never be able to get it later. It was a NGC which was ok, PF70 ultra cameo. I spent $450 for it, but there isn't that many out there, so I'll keep my eyes open to see if I see any. So any on want to buy a $10 piece for say $2000 grand image
