Home Sports Talk

I think I may have found a new favorite baseball announcer

I have many favorite baseball announers who do a great job of calling games and making one feel at home. But over the weekend, the Phillies were in town to play the Cubs and the announcer for the Phillies was on sports radio. This guy was great!!! And I found out that he also does the voice over for NFL Films. He immediately jumped to my favorites list

Does anyone have his name or more info on him? Hey Philly fans, your team may suck big time, but you have to be blessed to have that announcer.

  • Im almost positive that he is in the announcer wing of the Hall of Fame. Hes got to be around 70. Can any Phillie fans help us out here?

Yes, Harry Kalas won the Ford Frick announcers award for the hall of fame a few years ago. He's been with the Phillies since the early 1970's and is probably in his mid 70's although that I'm not sure of.
