Have you mortgaged your home to buy coins for your Registry Set ?

Have you spent ALL your savings on coins ... and then some ?

Is your credit card charged to the max ?

  • Stewart,

Why are you exposing my financial situation like this? I told you that it was a private matter and not to tell anyone, especially my personal financial planner, Lloyd. He's advised me against risky investments with the mortgage money. I know I can pay it all back later. The judge said I can get the kids back then. Just a few more sham operations and everything will be O'Kimage

    Jack

P.S. Just joking for those of you that don't know me.

Stewart, I MAY be alone as the only Set Registry owner who is proud to list his sets for what they are, a nice collectible set of Lincoln Cents which were aquired at reasonable prices and are enjoyed by me, not because of their GPA or their position in the Registry, but because they are fun to own and enjoy. No, my Meth addiction took my money before I could waste it on coins.

I know the feeling. I used to snort Coke, but the ice cubes kept hanging up in my nose, freezing me so bad that I had to quit !
As far as mortgage money goes, I spent that too !!

-Clearly we are "SICK". We have no control when buying coins.
-Bipolar disorder may be contributing to this but that's OK.
-We will do anything to achieve this. Lie to wives. Use our kids savings. Borrow from IRA's.
-WIVES have no idea what we are up to and we are VERY reluctant if not downright crazy to let them even approach the 'loop'.
-Home Equity loans are great for really "big dates".
-Waiting for delivery is excruciating. Even "24 hour priority'" is a lifetime.
-Many of us have anxiety attacks when we simply SEE a FEDEX truck.
-Any delivery personnel is both the savior or enemy depending on the timing.
-We will stop everything we are doing in the face of a wrong delivery and drive miles in the dark to retrieve a coin before the depot closes.
-Emailing coins is our next hope for 21st century technology
-When a set is completed, submitting for upgrades is a sad substitute for BUYING, but necessary to "feed the beast".
-Employment/unemployment has no bearing on buying coins.
-SELLING is a demonic idea along the same concept of trading our children for whiskey.
-We are geniuses for doing this instead of drugs, porno, hookers or riding subways muttering to ourselves; although any of those are wonderful "side-dishes" in conjunction with buying coins.
-Posting on this board IS another manifestation of OCD...we need to talk to other sick, sick people like us.

No mention of loans against your 401K?
  • rabbitracksrabbitracks Posts: 538 ✭✭
Nope, Not even, and only wish it was maxed out with coin purchases. Truck repairs from breakdowns and fuel costs are more the norm on the last one. Only buy what I can afford or find a great bargain. imageOnce in a great while a true bargain happens! Only wish it was on a regular basis.image
Enjoying time at home with the family now is my full time passion.

O.K. JB and Stewie: You guys lured me out of my room at the ward.

Jack: As your financial advisor, I explained to you the details for financial freedom in your personal financial plan:

Red copper is worth more than Gold. Gold a good 2nd place substitiute. Home equity loans, (at under 6% these days), is a must for investing in red copper that appreciates over 20% a year. EVERYONE should borrow at 6% for a return of 20%!!!! image

Wives are the risky investment: Return is OK, but the liability, cost of storing, continued cost upkeep, possible bipolar, depression issues, etc. to add to the emotional, financial cost - MAJOR depreciating asset. Next is NEW cars, (not classics). Stocks in the middle. Florida real estate is the only asset appreciating better than red copper, but not for long. Wait, I see a FED EX truck!!!!!! GOOD BYE!!!!!!!

I have no control, as in none, when it comes to buying coins.
    That's why I have a wife.

There are 10 types of people in the world, those who understand binary and those who do not.
