Thre is a PSA 10 51 Bowman FB in the Heritage auction that looks weak.

I would put my PSA 9 up against it anyday:

Heritage Photos are fairly weak so maybe the scan just does not do the 10 justice. But what about that LR corner?

psa is very inconsistent in its grading of that set....and that card contradicts anyone who tells you grading is more stringent now, b/c that's a recently graded card.

my take on the card is that while it doesn't look like it came from a 2005 heritage pack, it also has none of the common flaws. i've bought several hundred cards from that set, and flawless cards are extremely elusive. the strange thing is there's really no glaring defiiciencies in that set, but there's several common minor flaws that add up, which seem to contribute to the inconsistency. you really have to pick your poison as they all seem to have some combination of print lines across the front, centering issues, or stains on the rear. the nicest example i've ever come across in that set sits in a 9oc holder....and the majority of my 7s have more visual appeal than my 8s. personally the one 9 i own was bought for the holder....it's not real pretty but i just wanted to own a 9.

As for that particular card, i'm interested to see where it might go. there's only 4 tens and i guarantee there's only a couple ungraded waiting to be. The last one sold for $2500 and the other one that was sold went for $1500 about a year ago. That card is likely the last chance someone has at a 10 for at least a couple of years.

You guys may very well be right but remember, scans can be deceiving. I have seen a number of cards where a scan just didn't do the card justice....for better and worse.

Heritage has a fancy flash image viewer, but the scans are still terrible. I just dont understand why they dont have a link to
a large high def scan for a $2000 card!

$10 cards on Ebay get better treatment.

From that scan, I'd agree with you. It doesn't look like a 10. But, out of fairness I just wanted to bring up the potential issue. I agree 100% about the quality of scanning given the high value of the card.
