Reholdering question

I'm about to send in some cards for the May special and have a question ( this is only my second time sending cards in, so take it easy on me image ). If I want to get one of my cards reholdered do I have to fill out a seperate form and send it seperately? If so I assume I have to pay for shipping charges seperately, atleast on the return shipping, or both? And finally when they reholder a card do you automatically get the same grade that the card is in now ( I don't see any reason it would get downgraded, I'm just curious )? Thanks for any and all answers, appriciated.

Ryan

PS. I noticed that it said NOT to use a sticker for crossovers, is this the same for reholdering? Thanks.

Yes, a seperate invoice and return shipping fee for reholdering. Your $10 common card will cost you $5 for the reholder and $12 + for return shipping. It is best to send in a few at a time to lower your costs per card. Your card will receive the same grade and cert # as long as it hasn't been damaged when the holder was damaged, if the holder was cracked in half and the card creased that you are SOL. I always put a sticker on the card to be reholdered with invoice and line #, the last thing I need is for the card to be sitting around there fro 3 weeks because of an "error" in filling out my invoice.

This is on standard reholderings such as cracked or scratched holders. If it is a mislabeled card on PSA 's side then it is deemed a "mechanical error" by them and the reholdering and return shipping is on them, but an invoice must still be filled in with "mechanical error" stated on the form.
    Good Luck, STEVE.
  • Thanks Steve. I actually wanted them to reholder it to get a different cert #. If they won't change it then I'd rather not send. My reasoning is the card is an expensive card(for me lol) that I purchased on ebay and I didn't want the cert# floating around if I could just go ahead and get it changed. Thanks again,

  • Sorry to derail your thread, but I had a question about reholdering/resubmitting: I have several mislabelled cards- a few T cards with incorrect info, and a few modern cards with incorrect years/name misspellings- does PSA reholder these for free, since they technically made the mistake? Thank you.

I just sent in a mislabeled card. PSA told me they'd do it for free and reimburse me for the cost. It hasn't come back yet. I emailed them before I sent it in to get their agreement to do it.

  • Mac....Do you have to be a PSA member to resubmit? I'm not, although I could probably get one of my dealer friends to resubmit them for me.
  • orion9578-I believe that if you send the card in for reholdering, you will receive the SAME certificate numbering. Can anyone else confirm this? I couldn't find that text on the psa site but I know I read that somewhere.
