He is one of the best signings of the Yankees this year. Olerud was the best signing last year. The Yanks got the most out of their money by gambling on them.

Do you have a Tino Martinez rookie card? I mean the 1988 Topps Traded USA? I collect all the rookie cards of players I like that are on the Yankees.

Yes, I have the Topps (Tino in his USA Olympic uniform) in PSA Gem Mint 10

Gemmy...... ahem.....so what? Are you now setting yourself up as the straight man in a comedy routine? Duck!!!!
Proud of my 16x20 autographed and framed collection - all signed in person. Not big on modern - I'm stuck in the past!

WOW, a PSA 10? All my Tinos are still raw, but well protected in sleeves--I am tight on space.

He is a fun player to watch. I want to see if he can get 100RBI this season. That line up is star studded, so he may have the opportunity to come up and bat with men on base.

Another one, 4 Homers in 4 consecutive games, 6 Home Runs out of the last 7 games...so far a double tonight too.

    Can you say HOT!!!!

6 Homers in last 20 at Bats.
  • He is doing amazingly well for someone of his age who is not tied to steroid accusations. But, I suspect he'll slow down and hit just 25 home runs for the year.

I will take 25 Homers any day from a non-steroid user. He might even get 30. Wouldn't that be something. Tino has always been one of my favorites. My wife loves Tino....something about being cute besides being a very good player. LOL

It was no fluke the Yanks improved so much the first time he joined them. image

Make that 5 games in a row, 7 out of the last 8 games.
  • If the Yankees had Tino the last few years they would have won another WS and Boston would have gone home. It's all about chemistry folks.
  • crack out the champaigne!!!!! the yankees beat up on 2 lousy teams and it's time for a parade in tino's honor!!! hooray non-steroid user on yankees hits homerun!!!

Maybe the Yanks can make it 11 in a row. They have won 5 in a row and they have two 3 games series coming up with Oakland and Seattle but this time they are away games. Screwy schedule: why 2 teams they just faced?

If Tino Homers in 3 more consecutive games he will tie a major league record that Don Mattingly holds along with others, Home Runs in 8 consecutive games. Coach Donnie Baseball must be rubbing off on Tino, although Tino always hit for power especially in Yankee stadium.

    Why is he playing, again?

I love to see him out there, he looks lost at the plate. Almost like a guaranteed out.

    Kind of like Bernie Williams?

FYI...Bernie has a .333 average thus far in the playoffs.

And he batted .246 in the regular season, which is a much larger sample size therefore a much better indicator of his skill level.

Ok, then do a search on his September and October stats if you want a big sample of what he does this time of the year.
One sub-par regular season for Bernie doesnt make him a non-threat. That was one of the stupidest statements I have seen in a while.

Hmm one sub-par season? What would you call the last TWO years? Batting .262 and .263? Do you think just ONE sub-par season would give the Yankees a reason not to pick up his option for next year?

Why do you yankee fans think ANY statement that criticizes any yankee player to be 'the stupidest statements'?

Bernie is done, and if THREE seasons of batting less than .265 isn't enough to show you, then what about his horrific fielding this year? His inability to play the field?

And I love how people try to say 'he's clutch! look at his numbers this time of year!' Hillarious!
