Hey Stamp Forum! Have a few questions.

While I was over buying a few coins I bought a whole pile of stamps. Now before ya say anything yes I know Stamps aint worth nuthin image . Here is a pic:

I have a stamp book that I got when I was 9. I intend on completeing it(has been forgotten for some time and found it ahwile ago) and this is just a first step. What is in this book condition wise is of no matter but I don't want destroyed/torn stamps. If they are cancelled that is fine, just as long as the whole stamp is there. I would like to just have it complete. Some of these stamps have not been cancelled and some have been cacelled and are still stuck to the paper.

Question 1) How do I remove the stamp from the paper without toally destroying the stamp?

Question 2) Back when I started collecting this they had a clear double sided sheet that had envelope type gum that you licked and stuck it on the place in the book. Here is a pic of what I'm talking about. Is there a better way today to add these stamps to my album?
If so, anyone wanna sell me some so I can get started sorting through my purchase?

i think the only way to remove stamps from the envelope is to soak em in water !

You soak them off in water. Then you dry them. I always put the wet stamps between layers of clean, smooth white cloth, and then stuck that between some books to keep them flat and suck the water out. Always worked fine for me. You might have trouble with the one on the left.

    Thanks XPipe,

I'll give it a try and check the results!

The one stamp on the left is purposly rolled up to show depth and the style of "hinge" I was using. The stamp itself is quite flat as this book has been sitting in a closet for many years.
