Its another "BLUE" day in the Clad Roosies!

StoogeStooge Posts: 4,668 ✭✭✭✭✭
I would like to know what everyone is doing these days in the clad Roosie series. Is it dead! I have seen very little or no "RED" days as of late.

Well I have made a few nice Roosies with my latest submission.

1966 S.M.S. MS68
1981-P MS66FB
1982-D MS67
1990-P MS67
1996-W MS66FB

Also added a nice 1984-P MS68FB in the last couple of weeks too.

Later, Paul.

Later, Paul.

Red is starting to show up again in the clads and silvers. I've seen quite a few Roosies show
up in mint sets and type sets.

Hello guys, I have a collection of Raw rosies but no slabbed ones. What are you talking about when you say "Blue" or "red" etc. I have given some thought to starting to collect this but I need some Knowledge first .. thanks Don/MM

Blue- means little or no activity for the week
Red- " " that the series has movement to it. some or all the sets have purchased new or upgraded coins for there sets.

Perhaps the operative word in Onlyroosies post was "make". Personally, I like it when Mother Nature or Rainbowroosie makes colorfully toned dimes. image

When you started this thread it seemed you were disappointed that so little activity was taking place on the Roosie Registry. I just thought that with three updates showing up at once it would cheer you up. I know I check the listings often, and feel a little sad when there are long periods of no movement. I prefer to see movement up and down the list, even if it's not of my doing.
As for the pumpkin thing... just a reference to the standings going dorment again.

    Dan50,
Yes its alittle sad to see a # of top sets fall and to add to the horror, there is little and/or NO movement for any sets.

    Very disappointing.

  • Hi Stooge: I have an upgrade and a few nice duplicates to show for the last few months.

The upgrade -- not entered yet in my Registry Set -- comes with a story that might be interesting. I looked at it before buying, and it seemed a clear full bands. Not strong but clear full bands. No question.

Then a well-known dealer visited, and he said: "This is exactly the type of coin that PCGS is NOT giving 'Full Bands' to these days." So, I said, "Why not? It's clearly full bands." He agreed but said that PCGS was looking for -- and I hope I'm getting this right -- "fully rounded" bands.

Hello Mr. Colorful Coins: It was coins like yours that led to like the Roosies in the first place. I wish I had more of 'em.

    Enjoy!

Hmmmm. I had a well known dealer use a different example of what PCGS was looking for for full split bands when discribed to me.
I don't believe rounded was the word. I can still picture his example too.......image

Well finding early FB's is going to be super hard if thats the new standard. Was tough enough to get a 65/66/67 Bander without the DREADED SMS. I'm getting quite a collection of those. I also have a 67 thats a lock at 68 no band that I am afraid will get SMS if submitted. image
