1980's cracker jacks cards

Is it just my imagination or were some sort of baseball cards available as the prizes inside crackerjacks boxes at some point during the late 80's. I was just wondering.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
David

In 1982, you could send in box tops from Cracker Jacks for either a 9-card American or National league sheet. The American League sheet has a Mantle and the National League has a Mays. They never really seemed to garner much interest. I've got a bunch of these in a box around here somewhere...Seems like the Mantle is on the top right corner and hard to find without at least some minor corner wear.

Ah..maybe you mean the mini cards they issued in '91 and '92. That's about when I got away from collecting new cards. Perhaps someone else on here knows a little about them. I know they aren't worth much.
  • Todd,

Thats them ('91 and '92). I was not collecting at the time but I remember seeing them. Don't know why I thought of them today.

    Thanks,

Mini versions of 91 Topps and 92 Donruss. I remember buyin a case of them and trying to sell the "unopened" cards at shows even though you could clearly see who the player was through the surprise wrapper.

  • I collected the 91 and 92 reprints. It was pretty tough to put together and I still lack several cards. I even sent in a batch of proofs-of-purchases and some cash and had the binder sent to me. Maybe if I can find someone else who has some of these cards I can finish the set.
