Has anyone received free vouchers for their submission not being graded on time?

Just wondering. I have a large modern bulk order that is due by the end of next week. The last two times, the grades were ready on the 44th and 45th day respectively. After waiting this long, I'd love to get 140 free vouchers image

Unfortunately, the new policy is one voucher for each day late...not for each item.image

Wow, some real incentive there to get orders graded on time. "Gee, we can pay the grader 2 hours of overtime to finish those 5 orders of 50 cards, or just give out 5 vouchers."

    Who is Rober Maris?
  • I would give PSA a call to see what's going on. There's a possibility there is something wrong with your order. PSA rarely calls you when there's a problem. If you call, they will tell you.

To be honest, I don't think there is a problem. Whenever I submit cards for my Dan Marino basic and master sets, it takes FOREVER. I've come to accept this and don't get too upset anymore. What's funny is that 100+ of the 140 cards are regular Topps cards from 1972 to 1985 for my registry sets; only 35 to 40 are Marino cards. However, for some reason the order goes to the 23rd hour on the 44th day to get graded. What's funny is that I handed in a second order with this one (at the Sun Times show in Chicago in early March). The second order, a 1950's bulk order, was graded in 2 days and I had in back in my hands in a week's time. I have NO idea why they pick one order up, grade it in two days but don't touch the other order until 2 months later (especially because they are both 45 days guaranteed). I'll never understand.

I agree completely. On a 140 card order, I get one free voucher? I agree that it really diminishes their incentive to grade the cards on time. Having said that, in my experience PSA has been very diligent about grading orders on time. Also, I can see the problem of PSA having to hand out 140 free vouchers, but there should be a sliding scale - say 1 voucher for up to 10 cards, 11 to 50 is 3, 51 to 100 is 5, ect...
