33 Goudey Ruth What Would this Grade scans inside

I have picked up a 33 goudey ruth not to long ago and I am curious what you folks this it may grade

there are no creases or paper loss does not show any evidence of being trimmed

Where did you get it? I would think it was fake because the surface is so good despite the corner wear.

I Would say the pube hair in the lower right corner would grade a PSA 3

I picked it up from a local vintage dealer here in Baltimore

I would guess that this would grade as a 3. Rounded corners and discoloration on the borders prevent it from being higher. I think there is a fold inn the lower left corner as well.

Allen is exactly right. Also the rounded corners look fake and the "aging" looks fake. We call em as we see em. Hopefully we're wrong and it will grade...but unlikely.

I thought I would provide a scan of one of my 33G's - I will let everyone draw their own conclusions.



I'm not an expert at detecting fakes - especially 33G's and definitely hard from a scan.

I have sent the same scans to psa and hopefully they will respond to what there opinions are

I have compared to to some commons I have here and it seems to be the same but I am no expert

2 guys on here feel it is good and 3 feel it is fake that is my take

Send it in, I have handled hundreds of 33 Goudeys, and while I cannot be 100% sure without having the card in my hand, the wear on your card is consistent with the year (chipping, flaking on paper on corners, toning, ect)....plus if you purchased from a local dealer I am sure you can get a refund if you have the card and something from PSA returned saying trimmed....altered, ect. Good Luck and let us know how it turns out!

To my uneducated eye, it looks like a reprint. I've always thought that the "dots" in the print were the telltale sign. If you look at Babe's face, the print seems to be made up of a series of dots. I always thought that the orginal cards lacked this appearance.

Actually not so with the 33G's - the entire body of the person is a photo copy in the cards and appears as prints dots.



Notice how the letters are solid but not the image. The outline around the cap and face are print dots.

For the sake of clarity, I blew up a batter similar to looking at the Ruth - again, and especially with this one, one can see how the entire body, in this case, turns to print dots.

but i think he was offended by the pube remark, hence his "respect" comment..

edit - i believe there was originally a short & curly in the lower right corner of the front scan, i think it was edited and replaced with the current scans with eyelash (or something)..
