Grades - PCGS Gettin' Tough On Canadian
![bosox](https://us.v-cdn.net/6027503/uploads/authoricons/59Icon.jpg)
It's been my experience of late that PCGS is getting very tough on Canadian, especially cross grades in the holders, and especially the tougher dates. All of these are ICCS MS-65 Reds. I'll now have to decide whether I cut 'em out and submit 'em raw.

But nevertheless lovely coins to me!
Why the heck are you trying to get these coins OUT of the ICCS holders????????????????? At the very least, get ICCS to grade them again as a doubled graded coin taped to the PCGS slab.
I try to get my raw Canadian coins INTO the ICCS holders with the exception of the 1875-H 5c 10c and 25c Norweb Specimen coins which Brian Cornwell graded them prior to the 1996 Norweb sale even though they were slabbed by PCGS.
"Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you." -Luke 11:9
"Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD: And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might." -Deut. 6:4-5
"For the LORD is our judge, the LORD is our lawgiver, the LORD is our king; He will save us." -Isaiah 33:22
If I own a rare/expensive coin like bosox's Vicky cent, I will put it into PCGS/ICG holders and get cross grade by ICCS.

I thought that the results would be reversed. The ICCS coin is full red. I thought the 25c had too much rub for AU.
I wonder who's grading the Canadian stuff. I am 0 for 8 on my latest ICCS cross attempts (all different coins). Waiting on 5 more (3 ICCS + 2 NGC). Think I'll crack 'em out and try raw.

I began noticing a real difference in how PCGS grades Canadian about six months ago. It was like HRH, or one of his staffers, woke up one morning and decided from then on that PCGS was going to be the toughest graders of greyside coinage.
I had always thought I understood the differences in grading philosophy between PCGS and ICCS, but the only philosophy at play now by both companies seems to be that they each hate to cross coins in the other's holders.
Very frustrating.
