Do large submissions get graded slower than smaller ones?

Howdy!
I have sent in 7 submissions to psa over the past year. Most have been 50 to 100 card bulk common submissions. The 50 card lots have always been graded in about a week to 10 days while the 100 card ones have taken a lot longer. Is this the norm for smaller ones to get graded faster than larger ones???

In my experience, the larger the order and the more oddball cards, the longer it takes. For instance, my 1950's football and 1960's football (both about 40 cards) orders both contained Topps/Philly/Fleer cards were were graded in under a week. My 150+ card moder bulk order, comprised of regular issue 1970's/1980's stars and oddball Marino was logged in 3/15 with grades still not posted. It does bug me...but what can you do.

All I can say is WOW! Look at these turn around times. The smaller one was the set reg specail. The larger one was vintage bulk.

Thanks PSA, I will send more right away.

That's been my experience. I get 50-card orders back in a couple of weeks, but the 100-card orders are graded on business day 45.

  • Is it true that the same person grades all the cards for each registry set?

What I mean is, if I keep submitting my cards to PSA, does the same grader, grade all of my cards?
    Thanks,

Kitty: no. Each time, you get who you get.
  • I submitted a 100-card lot that was received on 4/28 and grades were posted on 5/3. I submitted a 50-card lot that was received on 4/29 and grades posted 5/4. Both submissions had a turnaround of 3 business days. Both submissions were April collectors club specials. I was very much amazed at the turnaround time. That kind of service makes me want to submit more.

I like the idea of forcing PSA to be more objective about grading. If computer grades instead of humans, that would take away some of the favoritism that the biggest submitters and colelctors beneftis from.
