Brown gets a quality start last time, but no run support
The Yankees send out a rookie from their talent depleted farm system and they WIN (I always wanted them to get a rookie anyway)
Sheffield, Jeter, Rodriguez are all hitting like they are suppose to, yet there is low run production on some days.
Sierra is on the DL, but the Yankees are so deep, it can't be a problem.
Its like every game, something new goes wrong that did not before.

<< <i>I thought the Yankees would have swung it the other way by now. Its a long slump. Its hard to pinpoint where the problem is.

The problem is Steinbrenner. Look who he has signed. Sheffield, Randy Johnson, Alex Rodriguez Jason Giambi. Four guys that are not team players. When you sign "all Stars" Those types usually look out for themselves. That's why you should only sign one or 2 of those types and surround them with good modest players. Steinbrenner is going to have some health problems this year because he is going to go crazy that he spent $200 million this year just so he could finish ahead of the Devil Rays.
I agree that signing too many big contracts was excessive. I really wanted more farm team members brought up just to make the team more interesting. It seems like that is what they are doing now anyway. They are getting a rookie for 2b, they have one great rookie pitcher and may get another one.
