    Handler! imageimageimage

I believe four other lots will start tonight. Jester's fine material will be under the Jester's Darkside Treasure Trove banner.

That is, if my current image host is working which aggravatingly has been up and down most of this weekend. I will probably let those four scheduled lots go ahead tonight starting at about 7-9:00PM CDT.

I am going to try to list new auction lots on Wednesdays and Sundays at a rate of maybe 15-20 per week depending on how much screaming my wife does..... image Don't worry, I bought her some nice flowers today.....image

If the large images being uploaded to solistyle become too intermittant, I'll get another host that can supply a high bandwidth (any ideas for reliable image hosts?).

Anyway, among the many offering will be a number of coins from Jester's Challenges. These range from a nice selection of UK coins to medieval through enlightenment coins of Europe, European gold (can you say Eliasberg-type stuff), 15th-17th c. Polish silver, South American treats, and everywhere in-between. Imagine a sailor that lived 400 years picking up change at dozens of Ports of call.

I would have started with more offering this first Sunday but we met with some HTML software difficulties related to eBay last night, but young Jeremy (of MIT fame...the (in)famous airplanenut) appears to have ironed out the wrinkles.....so, off we go!!!

The lot which 'escaped' scheduling is a very nice AU58 1862 Victorian Bun Head bronze penny. In hand, a nice bronze with very even color and no real distractions (like spots or corrosion) to note. It has decent lustre also.

So, have fun and bid liberally. P.S. If text isn't showing up on the 1862 listing 'scroll-over' the text area and it will highlight the title, description and terms, etc.

    Cheers,

    MacCrimmon

    Yea, Verily! image

Yes, I will endeavour to provide a brief listing at least as they have been imaged.

But, forget about planning too much....remember Mr. Eureka's quote, "savings are repugnant"

There are as many as 8 Vilnius pieces, all choice XF to UNC., and another 30+ coins which are pre-1750.....oodles of British, Canadian silver dollars; about a dozen Indian or EIC (most all BU/UNC). 20-30 South/Central America including an 1820 Brasil 960 Reis in better than VF condition.

How about the prettiest 1893 3 pence toner you are likely to find....I still can't see from the blinding colours......holographic, it is.

Just one small remark, for an otherwise great job on some great coins:

    International Shipments

$12 for ALL lots, regardless of value. NO exceptions made!

Ouch. This sounds high for lots below $100. Also, it is my experience, that regular uninsured mail (< $3.00 ) is the best way to ship coins to Europe, with an average delivery time of only 4 days from NY. JMHO on the matter, this is the way I prefer to use, and out of more than 150 coin related parcels last year, to and from Athens, the only lost one, was an insured M3 50 sen PCGS MS63 from greattoning, still trying to get a refund on this one.

Dimitri, this is, by and large, for the general eBay population who have scanty histories behind their purchases. Exceptions will certainly be allowed for CU Forum members, and if no "rush" is desired on shipping, then multiple lots can be grouped under the Registered mail rate. I'm flex on this. What I really dislike is not being able to simply insure a parcel for $1000 at a reasonable rate from the US to Europe. Odd that the Royal Mail from the UK can "safely" ship these parcels to the US.....

Could we get a sense of what Poland pieces are coming up (especially the 1919-1939 era) ? image

This is not an exhaustive list and I have not verified the listed grades, etc. on all these. IMHO, they could be over/under-graded, so no final verdicts until I've posted or a TPG has encapsulated. Anyway, grading is subjective!!
