Kennedy Ring With pics

Thought I would try it out. I used a hammer, the spoon was slow and Im impatient. It still needs to be sanded with a finer grit paper, and then polished, but it turned out better than I expected. I was able to keep some of the details on the coin, which was my goal. Its still got the year, stars, and United States of America.

Huh. that's pretty nice. Is it comfortable? I was worried that, with the inside rim narrow like the thickness of the planchet, it might not feel nice after a while. How is it?

The inside is thinner, but its sanded down and very comfortable. As long as you sand out the sharp edges its fine. I was worried it would be uncomfortable from pics I have seen also...buts its not noticable.

Hammer...and make sure your resting the coin on a medal surface...anything else and it will go ALOT slower....

I am working on a 1964 Washington quarter for my daughter.......yes the spoon thing isn't going so hot as all I have managed so far is to flatten the reeded edge...but I have't worked on it long and I can't find a piece of metal to place the coin on for hammering purposes
