Need a bit of grading help here my friends.

Now i'm quite okay at grading British early milled coins myself, however i'm doing a bit of research and i want to see if i can find a general consensus here, time for you knowledgable chaps to show off.

I want you to describe in words where to look on the following designs for wear, and how this distinguishes the grade.

e.g (for say Victorian Jubilee stuff) [this isn't accurate it's just me trying to give a very brief quick example], please be more thorough than this...

EF - Very light wear noticable on the highest points of head veils only.
VF - Moderate overall wear on the head veils, hair and the crown...
F - Overall wear on the whole design

So what would you identify as the key grading areas on these designs;

Charles II (5/- to 6d)

EF
VF
F

James II (5/- to 6d)

EF
VF
F

William and Mary (5/- to 6d)

EF
VF
F

William III (5/- to 6d)

EF
VF
F

Anne (5/- to 6d)

EF
VF
F

George I (5/- to 6d)

EF
VF
F

George II Young Head (5/- to 6d)

EF
VF
F

George II Old head (5/- to 6d)

EF
VF
F

George III (1/- and 6d 1787)

EF
VF
F

I must ask you guys now, if you do fill in and supply info on this am i alright to copy the information you provide and use it? If it does end up being used in a published work i will of course credit anyone who has participated.

This exercise is about trying to define exactly the nature of grading silver coins of this era and ensure that this knowledge is more specific than many general catalogues and is hopefully widely available.
