Harvey loves Proof coins more than he likes MS grades. He did not like UC grades at all, and while he liked AU graded coins , he could not say that he really loved them ?.

Which of these is true?

A... He liked MS coins less than UC coins.

B... He liked AU coins more than MS coins.

C... He liked Proof coins more than AU coins.

D... He liked UC coins more Proof coins.

Please choose an answer from A thru D ......

Since this is dual posted (also in the registry forum) I will repeat my answer here:

I will answer "E... None of the above".

    Here is why:
A does not work because it is stated that he likes MS grades and does not like UC at all, therefore the opposite would be true
B does not work because there is no comparison between the level of like from MS to AU (as is stated he "likes" each but not "loves" them)
C does not work because he "loves" Proof coins not "likes" them (although logically if you start a statement on a false premise then the conclusion can be assumed true)
D does not work because he does not like UC coins (see C for assumed true)

    Just my two cents.

B, but it depends on the series collected.

I know several collectors, such as myself who find it much more of a challenge to find problem-free AU coins than MS coins, even if they could affor the more commonly encountered slabbed MS examples. We have the patience to try to collect a complete set of business strikes Collecting proofs is a different challenge and a smaller set. Ultra-cameos or DCAMS are only for a few connosseurs (sp?) if the series is 100 years old.

    The answer is B.

A... He liked MS coins less than UC coins.

B... He liked AU coins more than MS coins.

C... He liked Proof coins more than AU coins.

D... He liked UC coins more Proof coins.

by elimination,he did not like uc A & D is gone, although mixing loves proof more that he likes ms is a bit confusing...lol ... I'd say C,

Get off the train in Omaha. Get tickets for the College World Series. Eat some great steak. See some great sites. (Top 10 zoo's in the world, SAC, visit Warren Buffett [it's Berkhire's shareholder weekend]) And look over the Byron Reed collection at the Durham Western Heritage Museum.

See, now aren't you glad you got on that train in Chicago? image
