1978 Topps Baseball SMR DROP

No big deal, and widely known for a while. PSA 9 single commons of 1978 Topps Baseball have dropped from $20 to $ 16 in the new SMR.

Take note! There are drops everywhere from 1974 Topps on up ......

The SMR staff must have decided it was time to check out what '70s cards are actually selling for these days. That's good, but it would have been more timely 12 or 18 months ago.

On average, what have you been actually paying for commons on ebay?

SMR's a joke! For instance, prices haven't moved in over a year for the '51 football. just tonight 4 psa 9 commons sold and 3 of them went for over $1k...smr $200, even 8s which have been listed for the past two years at $55 regularly sell in the $100-300 range. I don't even understand why people even bother referencing it....i guarantee sellers aren't basing their prices on it.

    Mike,

I have been buying only lower pop cards on e-bay so the price would be skewed. My last submission of 94 78 Topps including shipping cost me $5.31 per card. I got 12 PSA 10's , 66 PSA 9's and 14 PSA 8's to go along with some not holdered. So not bad at all. Of course we will over look the cost in buying unopened. That does not count image

the cost of the unopened material does not matter. This is your hobby and because of that any money spent is well spent. We are lucky in that our hobby affords us some liquidity. How many hobbys can make that claim?

    Good for you.

Yeah, like throwing rocks at little kids. I don't see a penny from that hobby. Sure is fun though.

(In case anyone happens to be offended, this is a joke and I don't throw rocks at little kids.......... on the weekdays).
