1952 Topps Reprints/Fakes

Hello All, this is my first time doing this so forgive me if I sound nieve!
I am wondering about 1952 Topps Baseball cards, Are there any foolproof ways that a person can spot reprints in this set??
I found a guy who has some commons and they are in pretty good shape. I am just wondering how I can tell whether they are reprints or originals???
Are 52' Topps bigger than normal cards???
What about the fact that they are commons??? Do they even make reprints/fakes of commons???
Any help would surely be appreciated.
I just looked at them quick and never thought much about it but if they are infact original then they may be worth quite a bit if graded and in pretty good condition
