I must be a lucky one then....I've had mine (I did order only 5 or so for me and family) since a couple weeks after they came out.

I am just waiting for the 1st day covers, which I got notificiation have been shipped, to arrive.

I ordered 2 sets March 3rd and got an e-mail Friday May 22nd that they were shipped. Haven't received them yet but I think they will be here tomorrow.

I received 12 sets yesterday which are date stamped as being packed on April 11th. The Mint shipped them on April 21th. I am really second guessing myself as to the wisdom of this purchase as it appears they are selling a vast number of rolls.

GAT: Supply is important, but remember the other half of the equation...demand, and it's high. I live in a mid-sized town with probably fifty banks and it's very difficult for me to get a whole box of nickels at any bank. They keep saying they are limited. I called the Dallas Fed today and they said that they are limiting orders from banks. The mint apparently cannot keep up with demand for the coin, and in August? they are switching to the Ocean In View coins. Production has (presumably) been going on for five months already and the Fed isn't able to keep up with orders from member banks. That tells me something about demand.

Of course, the mint boxes would be in even greater demand because of the packaging. At any rate, who knows, but with 100,000,000 coins minted as of 3/28 and banks STILL cannot get enough to satisfy customer demands...it seems like they are pretty popular.

That kind of leads me to believe that the Ocean View will be the sleeper
Everyone is after the buffalo.
Everyone is frustrated at not being able to get them and they are delayed.
People are buying on speculation in huge droves....just to resell.

So, people may decide NOT to get the Ocean View in the same way....many less minted/sold. A year later and BOOM! Worth something

Hi, I dont know the Mint problem. I have already received 100 sets. I ordered my first 50 on Feb. 28 and go them in 2 weeks. The next set was ordered in March and received about the 20th of March. Hopefully your sets will arrive soon.

I just got an e-mail from the Mint today that my whopping order of 3 roll sets shipped!! Whoo Hooo!!

It's been so long I do not remember when I order them --- sometime in Feb. I think . . . .

I ordered 2 sets on 3-2-05. They immediately went on backorder. Finally received them on about 4-19-05 with the production date of 4-6-05 stamped on each white box.

Obviously they're making them as they need to for demand.

I wish the mint would put orders of 10 or more on hold and ship out the lower orders first.
Reason is that lower orders are more likely collector orders while the larger orders are most obviously speculators/dealers.

I know dealers wouldn't want that to happen, but, I do believe the US Mint should put collectors first.

I think they should do just like every other business in the world and ship them on a first come, first served basis. Should someone who ordered 2 sets yesterday get their coins before someone who ordered 11 sets on 2/28?

At any rate I'm in no hurry to get the sets just yet (I've gone three - four months before receiving what I order from the mint, so I'm used to it); but I can understand how some people would be upset that the coins that were going to ship on 4/15 now are going to ship on 5/27. IMO if they weren't confident they could ship all orders on 4/15 they should not have put that date on the site to begin with. They may be planning to make as many as customers demand (no production limit, in other words), but so far some 125,000,000 coins (bags and rolls as well as circulating issues) and the Fed (at least the Dallas Fed) still is imposing limits on bank orders. Combine the limits with the continuing backorder of these sets, and it looks to me like the mint is having SERIOUS issues satisfying demand for this coin.

We'll they had a ship date of 4/29 for a long time.

Then they update to 4/15, kind of indicating they are catching up.

They leave 4/15 up until 4/27?!?!?!

And now they say 5/27. !! Typical govt, they don't have a clue as to what they are doing.

Mint says they shipped two more roll sets yesterday. Already received my other 12 sets about two weeks after they were issued.
